Features, NFL News, Top PostsNFL weather forecast Week 15: Snow batters Baltimore, Philly, D.C.
A wicked snowstorm dumped so much snow on the east coast that the start time of games in Baltimore and Philadelphia had to be pushed back, while Monday night’s contest in the nation’s capital figures to be hampered by the weather conditions.
The Chicago Bears’ flight to Baltimore was delayed Saturday as their game against the Ravens was moved from 1 p.m. ET to 4:15 p.m. (FOX), giving grounds crews at M&T Bank Stadium more time to clear snow in time for the game. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-30s and skies should be clearing. The Ravens are favored by 11 against the point spread.
Down the interstate, in Philadelphia, the Eagles-49ers kickoff was also changed from 1 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in order to allow Lincoln Financial Field to be cleared and for the weather pattern to move. Philadelphia is expecting more snow to fall in a 48-hour period than it’s seen in more than 45 years. But, like in Baltimore, skies should be clear and the temperature should reach a high of 36 at kickoff (FOX, Eagles -7.5).
The weather is supposed to ease on Sunday across the east coast.
Monday night’s game between the Giants and Redskins will be played in cold temperatures, but the snow should be clear by kickoff (8:30 p.m., ESPN, Giants -3).
Here are weather forecasts for remaining games in the NFL for Week 15:
Atlanta Falcons at New York Jets (1 p.m., FOX, Jets -2.5): Cold, cold and really cold, with wind and potential showers, and 34 degrees. Expect a Mark Sanchez pick or three and some missed field goals.
New England Patriots at Buffalo Bills (1 p.m., CBS, Patriots -7): Snow and potentially lots of it, plus temperatures below freezing. The Pats may have to keep it on the ground with Laurence Maroney and Kevin Faulk.
Miami Dolphins at Tennessee Titans (1 p.m., CBS, Titans -3): Chilly, cloudy and 40 degrees — great running weather for Chris Johnson.
Cleveland Browns at Kansas City Chiefs (1 p.m., CBS, Chiefs -2.5): Partly sunny, 44 degrees and plenty of Matt Cassel dropbacks expected.
Oakland Raiders at Denver Broncos (4:05 p.m., CBS, Broncos -11): Sunny and 49 degrees. Knowshon Moreno will like running against the Raiders’ defense.
Cincinnati Bengals at San Diego Chargers (4:05 p.m., CBS, Chargers -6.5): Another perfect SoCal day: 75 degrees and sunny. On the field, though, things could get ugly between these top defenses.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Seattle Seahawks (4:15 p.m., FOX, Seahawks -7): Rainy and 49 degrees. That means it’ll probably be a low-scoring ground game (aka a snore).
Green Bay Packers at Pittsburgh Steelers (4:15 p.m., FOX, Steelers -2): Cold, 32 degrees and snow. In Pittsburgh, that’s called perfect football weather.
Minnesota Vikings at Carolina Panthers (8:20 p.m., NFL Network, Vikings -13): Cloudy, cold and 42 degrees. Expect Adrian Peterson and DeAngelo Williams to see lots of leather.
There are two games being played indoors or in retractable-roof stadiums:
Arizona Cardinals at Detroit Lions: 1 p.m., FOX, Cardinals -11
Houston Texans at St. Louis Rams: 1 p.m., CBS, Texans -11
Note: All times Eastern
