The Giants came to the nation’s capital knowing a loss would end their playoff hopes. With that sense of desperation, they unleashed a relentless attack that utterly overwhelmed the playing-for-next-year Washington Redskins.
In the end, Eli Manning threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns as New York won in a 45-12 rout at FedEx Field on Monday night. Ahmad Bradshaw scored two first-half rushing touchdowns and the Giants (8-6) blew out to a 24-0 halftime lead. New York closes the season with Carolina next week at Giants Stadium then travels to Minnesota to take on the Vikings. The Cowboys visit Washington (4-10) on Sunday night before hosting the NFC East-leading Philadelphia Eagles in the season finale.
Manning left in the fourth quarter after going 19-for-26 passing and hitting Steve Smith, Derek Hagan and Mario Manningham with TD throws.
Sophomore cornerback Terrell Thomas returned a Jason Campbell interception 14 yards for another New York touchdown.
