Miami @ NYJets -3.5

o/u 40.5

It should be interesting to see how Miami (2-4) responds after last week’s near upset of New Orleans. Do the Dolphins rally around the fact that they jumped out to a 24-3 lead over one of the best teams in the NFL? Or do they languish in the fact that they allowed the Saints to score 36 points in the second half to blow the lead to one of the best teams in the NFL? And which Jets team shows up? The one that soared past the Raiders last week 38-0, or the one that lost three straight prior to last week, including a 16-13 stinker to the lowly Bills in Week 6? As you might expect, the trends for these two teams are just as inconsistent as the teams themselves. The Dolphins are 12-2 ATS in their last 14 road games versus a team with a winning record, but are 1-5 ATS in their last six as an underdog, and are 0-4 ATS in their last four games as an underdog between 3.5 and 10 points. The Jets (4-3) are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a SU win, but are 1-4 ATS in their last five as a home favorite, and are 1-5 ATS in their last six as a favorite between 3.5 and 10 points. Looking head-to-head, Miami is 6-20-2 ATS in its last 28 meetings and 2-7-2 ATS in its last 11 trips to New York, but the underdog is 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings, as is the road team. I will take the most recent trends, the Wildcat offense, and most importantly, that extra half-point in this game. Dolphins +3.5
