Carolina QB Jake Delhomme cannot be too excited to see the Arizona Cardinals. It was against these same Cardinals in last year’s NFC playoffs that Delhomme’s career starting circling the drain, as he threw for five interceptions that day, and neither he, nor his Panthers have recovered since. In fact, things have gotten worse, much worse for both Delhomme and the Panthers. In their six games, Delhomme has thrown 13 interceptions, more than the 12 he threw all of last year. As for the Panthers, they are stuck at 2-4, after last week’s 20-9 loss to the almost equally unimpressive Bills, and have lost by an average of more than 15 points a game in their four losses. Conversely, the Cardinals (4-2), after a slow start, seem to be getting back on track, winning three in a row, including last week’s convincing win over the Giants at the Meadowlands. Carolina’s two-headed monster rushing attack of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart will have its hands full with Arizona’s No. 1-ranked rush defense. That could force Delhomme’s hand, and that cannot be good news for Carolina. While the underdog is 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings, the Cardinals are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall, and these two teams seem to be going in different directions since last year’s playoffs. I have a hard time picking any team that gets dominated by the Bills, so I will not do so. Cardinals -10
