The Bills are taking no chances with their concussed QB or their surprising 2-game winning streak.


Backup Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has guided both road wins, has already been installed as Buffalo’s starter for Sunday’s matchup against the Houston Texans.

Fitzpatrick led the Bills to a comeback 16-13 OT win over the Jets after Trent Edwards was injured and directed Sunday’s ugly but effective 20-9 win over Carolina. He finished 11-of-22 for 123 yards and 1 TD.

Last week, when the chance of recovery wasn’t as likely, the QB announcement wasn’t made until Friday. The Bills have a bye following the Houston game, affording Edwards another week of rest.
