Did Steven Jackson beat his pregnant girlfriend?

That’s the ugly accusation made by Supriya Harris, the mother of Jackson’s 10-month-old son. Harris said in a statement to police that Rams running back Jackson beat her in his Las Vegas home last year while she was nine months pregnant. That she didn’t file this complaint until this week raises questions.

Jackson said Harris is lying. “The accusations are especially hurtful because those who truly know me know that those actions would be out of character for me. Miss Harris is the mother of my son, a son that I love and that I willingly support emotionally and financially,” he said in a statement on Thursday. “I will address this matter thoroughly through the appropriate avenues, but not through the media.”
