Top bucks for Seabass.
Sebastian Janikowski is now the league’s highest-paid kicker after signing a 4-year, $16-million deal with the Raiders that includes $9 million in guarantees.
The team matched the contract it gave last year to P Shane Lechler, who is the NFL’s highest-paid punter.
Janikowski, who turns 32 on March 2, was set to become a free agent had the Raiders not placed the franchise tag on him before Feb. 25. He made 26 of 29 field-goal attempts in 2009, including a career-long of 61 yards.
“He is the best kicker in the NFL, and the Raiders have recognized that fact by rewarding him with this monstrous contract,” said Paul Healy, Janikowski’s agent.
