The Sanchise is likely to have surgery on his left knee in the offseason.
The Jets’ quarterback – and de facto mascot of this website – first hurt his left knee at USC and lingering damage to his patella ligament appears to require him to go under the knife . On December 3, he sprained his posterior cruciate ligament during a game against the Buffalo Bills in Toronto. He was forced to miss one game before returning to help the Jets reach the AFC Championship Game.
Sanchez had his knees examined by Dr. James Andrews, the Birmingham, Ala. surgeon famous for his work on Major League Baseball pitchers.
Jets general manager Larry Tannenbaum said Sanchez would be ready “well before training camp” in the spring.
Sanchez’s progression during his rookie campaign gives Gang Green high hopes for the 2010 season.
The Daily Mark Sanchez Watch will return then too.
